In pursuit of building a parametric tower, I saw the opportunity to create a composition that contrasted both in texture and material. I was interested in the contrast of using smooth curved materials, reminiscent of modern parametric buildings, with a randomized voxel-like pattern, creating this unique dialogue – twisting, entangled together as the box pattern responds to randomized attractor points. Using Grasshopper, and through the inspiration of a few online tutorials, I was able to design a fully parametric tower that has 14 individually customizable parameters ranging from floor height, rotation angle, and box density.
